The Super 8 Soccer Tournament is a product of Extreme Sports Limited.
It is a tournament that brings together teams from eight regions (former constituencies) in Nairobi county that is divided between East and West who battle for the top honors.
Under the slogan #WakilishaMtaaYako, the competition started in 2004 with the aim of taping and nurturing serene grass root football talent as well as to transform the sport into a viable commercial industry in Kenya thus creating employment opportunities for thousands of youth.
The tournament has a rich history of unearthing several football talents in the past including Jerry Santos (Gor Mahia), Jacob Keli (AFC), Phillip 'Bobo' Odhiambo (KRA) and Joseph Shikokoti (AFC Leopards) who are currently based in the top flight Kenyan league.
Over the year's the competition has had its fair share of challenges and took a break in 2012 to return 3 years later even bigger and better.
In 2015, online betting company SportPesa joined forces with Extreme Sports to sponsor the competition to a tune of Ksh 35 million and subsequently became the title sponsors of the coveted tourney.
